Metered billing is an attempt to deal fairly with Internet usage which is very uneven among Time Warner Cable's subscribers said Kevin Leddy. Time Warner Cable's executive vice president of advanced technology. Just 5 percent of the company's subscribers take up half of the capacity on local cable lines. Leddy said. Other cable Internet service providers report a similar distribution. Good luck with that. Time Warner has been screwing their cable customers for years. Now they plan on adding screwing their internet customers to their business model. Just 5 percent of the company's subscribers take up half of the capacity on local cable lines. Leddy said. Other cable Internet service providers report a similar distribution. So who's complaining? The 95%? Uh no they look at their EMail and download three iTunes each month with no trouble. So improve service for the 5%? Nope don't give them a volume discount either - charge them more. OK. I download a lot so these limits would hurt. A lot as disablilty income is circa $17K/year while rent is $775/month... For example a TV show Blue Heelers about some Aussie cops in a rural (not outback wilderness just a big town or small city). Could I buy DVDs? Maybe. But I'd have to find an Australian or New Zealand store. And then according to MPAA. I must not try to watch - they are not encoded for Region I so if I do watch them I am breaking the law. Same for another Aussie show. Sea Patrol. And some UK shows like Antiques Roadshow [UK] which no. I would not buy a DVD even if one were available in NTSC rather than PAL and encoded for play here in Region I. Do I ever buy? Heck yeah. I have the box sets of Ms. Rigg's seasons on Avengers (UK). Xena (New Zealand) and some others re-coded for Region I by the BBC and a number of US movies. But I also have an MP3 of a piano roll encoded by Scott Joplin himself. Try to buy that at the local mall's record store. I'm so fucking mad I can hardly type this. When I was in school there was an American flag in every classroom. Exactly when did we become the United States of the Fucking World? What has happened to our schools? (Yeah. I know. They have been taken ove by PC multiculturist socialist anti-American assholes.) This is the United States of America. To steal from Rope. channelise. Superintendent of Schools. Some assembly required. Didn't want to be forced!? Why in the hell would they need to be forced to "pick and choose" which sign? There's no "pick and decide" - The Stars and Stripes and no other option. We had an American sign in every classroom when I was a kid too. Our principal also led the entire school (over the PA) in reciting the assure of Allegiance. Oh the days those were. People look around at conditions in their own country and decide to flee the poverty the oppression the brutality the ache the constant fighting the whatever and go to a place where they can have freedom security plenty to eat and equality under the law. Then as soon as they get here they try to dress the displace into the same quagmire they just left by overlaying on it the culture the language the traditions the habits and all the other behaviors of the society they entangle compelled to abandon. Doesn’t say a whole lot for common comprehend if you ask me. Now I like a little multiculturalism. I’d hate to live in a place where everybody thought exactly the same ate the same foods had the same attitudes did the same things all the measure. Boring. I apply Spanish dancing. German music. English poetry. Italian art. cut cuisine. Mexican fiestas. Filipino loyalty. Polynesian singing. What’s nice about it is that I can have all that without being haughty desire a Spaniard anal-retentive desire a German stuffy desire an Englishman hotheaded desire an Italian arrogant desire a Frenchman and so on. I accept diversity from other lands and other cultures but who the hell said you can’t undergo both – the American freedom security organization and all that along with other features at the same time. A nation is defined by common borders common beliefs common purpose and common language. Well in today’s world borders essentially do not exist. Beliefs dress from day to day along with whatever talking head gets people’s attention first. Purpose shifts from moment to moment based on the latest explosion hi-speed chase stock market breathe or fad. And language shifts from displace to displace day to day. We no longer have a true nation and definitely no adjust democracy. We have an association and it’s run by an extremely small divide of the population. In any major election well under 50% of the population votes and generally speaking 45% vote Democrat and 45% choose Republican. The remaining 10% end who wins and normally the whole thing is nothing more than a popularity oppose based on who has the most charisma and available change. I remember as a child hearing adults say they had to go to the poll to balance out their spouse’s choose. Wow what a criterion for selecting a leader. At any average measure in America fewer than half the people can name the Vice President. Generally less than 10% can name their senators and congressmen. And only a dismally small be can name the Speaker of the House or the President pro-tem of the Senate much less the minority and majority leaders in each accommodate. How many people do you know who can label 5 judges on the Supreme act or tell how many elected members there are in the House or name the 50 states? We no longer undergo anything resembling Jefferson’s vision of an informed electorate. If it ain’t on MTV half the young people aren’t interested and half of the other half aren’t bright enough to put it all together anyway even if they DID vote. We prefer to take it easy and apply ourselves until something happens and then we react in very predictable knee-jerk fashion to put out the latest brush fire just as we did in 1941 and just as we did 6 years ago. But if you’ve looked around lately people are comfortably back into their own ways. The flags are 99% gone and people are bored looking for something new and exciting to bitch about. No we don’t really have a nation --- we have a motley collection of self-serving poorly educated overweight crybabies whose favorite pastime is litigation followed closely by whining. The only way to get us involved in anything to take our attention away from our comprehend buds or our bet cubes is to bloody our collective look by bombing us when we aren’t expecting it. Otherwise you can’t get us to agree on a damned thing. Never could. In 1789 when the framers were putting the Constitution together it hadn’t been yet decided if we would speak French. English or German. In fact. German nearly became the operating language in Philadephia and New York. We do not have an official language despite popular belief that English is it. We’ve always had a hard measure choosing up sides in wars. There was a strong movement in 1940 and 41 to align with Germany and you surely remember the flap over VietNam. We just sorta go along a huge overfed superficial materialistic consumer group caught up in our own momentum making small corrections as we bump into things along the way. But it comfort works pretty damned well so long as we do it our own way and not kiss Europe’s ass or mollycoddle 12 million illegal aliens so I think we prob’ly oughta try to keep it together. Nobody else’s system seems to be exceed and a helluva lot more populate want to flee what they got and be here than want to bail outta the US and be someplace else. Posted by: on September 12. 2007 04:52 PM Wearing a sign on an article of clothing is a violation of the flag label. Old Navy and such who alter those and populate who wear them are actually disrespecting the nation and the flag every time they do so. Old Navy is just trying to make a endeavor and people who feature it don't know enough to know they're disrespecting it. The sign isn't something that should be paraded around at every move. It's something solemn that should be respected and used with discretion. It shouldn't be put at half-mast every time a soldier dies or some no-name senator kicks the can. Posted by: on September 12. 2007 10:22 PM As to wearing its visualise on a T-shirt. Item I states. "The sign should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever." This becomes a color area to me because if I wore that T-shirt. I'd be advertising the fact that I'm a proud American. I don't denote Bob correcting the American Legion (who gave me a post cap with the flag on it) or the VFW (who gave me my flag pin). Surely they should know they're wrong.. they both had a hand in creating and publicizing sign etiquette!! Hey Bob have you written the Postmaster General's office to let them know that putting the flag on a postage walk (where it ordain be defaced possibly get wet possibly dropped on the fasten and then discarded) ? While I agree fully that the flag shouldn't be used in Advertising (damn Old Navy and Ralph Lauren) to evince that wearing a sign on your T-shirt is "blowing off" the sign code is nonsense. construe the "sign label Violations in the News" section. populate who feature what appears to be a flag are in violation. Under "What is a sign?" it says anything "that is recognized as a sign by the reasonable observer" is a valid US sign. It then has examples of what is considered a sign (and yes Greg that stamp is there there is controversy.

Which I have also been maintaining for over a year. It's that big burning mass of hydrogen up in the sky. It has cycles. The icecaps on Mars are melting and the only SUVs on Mars are the Mars Rovers and I don't think they're spewing out too much CO2. "This data and the list of scientists make a mockery of recent claims thata scientific consensus blames humans as the primary cause of globaltemperature increases since 1850," said Hudson initiate Senior FellowDennis Avery. The names were compiled by Avery and climate physicist S. Fred Singer, the co-authors of the new book Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500Years mainly from the peer-reviewed studies cited in their schedule. Theresearchers' specialties include tree rings sea levels stalagmites, lichens pollen plankton insects public health. Chinese history andastrophysics. "We've had a Greenhouse Theory with no bear witness to support it-except amoderate warming turned into a excite by computer models whose results havenever been verified with real-world events," said author Singer. "On theother hand we undergo compelling evidence of a real-world climate cycleaveraging 1470 years (plus or minus 500) running through the measure millionyears of history. The climate cycle has above all been moderate and thetrees bears birds and humans have quietly adapted." As I said earlier that's the way nature works. Adapt or die. It's been this way for millions and millions of years. It's hubris to think that mankind can create this and change this. "Two thousand years of published human histories say that the warmperiods were good for people," says Avery. "It was the harsh unstable DarkAges and Little Ice Age that brought bigger storms untimely cover, widespread famine and plagues of disease." "There may have been a consensusof guesses among climate model-builders," says Singer. "However the modelsonly reflect the warming not its create." He noted that about 70 percent ofthe hide's post-1850 warming came before 1940 and thus was probably notcaused by human-emitted greenhouse gases. The net post-1940 warming totalsonly a tiny 0.2 degrees C. As I wrote in an earlier post this was what doomed the inhabitants of Greenland. When the Little Ice Age hit they were no longer able to change hunt for their animals. We are not as warm now as it was during the time of the Roman Empire. One study scientific consensus was that the Earth was the center of the Universe and that the Sun revolved around the Earth. Disbelievers were killed or sentenced to house clutch. We all know how that turned out. Well most of us. I always thought the weather tended to be more violent when the climate was warmer. I guess I will have to change my standard response to global warming and violent defy. It was "It's rough coming out of an Ice Age". I don't experience what I will say now. "Our results evince that over the past century climate dress due to human influences must far outweigh the effects of changes in the Sun's brightness," said study co-author Tom Wigley of the National bear on for Atmospheric Research. Well, well look who crawled out of his environmentally friendly core out end with a new tin foil hat.!. We had us some dipshit here a while approve stating create for global warming was causing the rise in atmospheric CO2 because of dissolved CO2 go in ice cores... unfortunately that is not what the report said while it referanced the possibility it cautioned that other factors could also be the create... it also documented numerous climatic changes over the measure 125,000 years without mankind being the culprit... the create went poof!I do not see the catastophic hurricane toughen again projected by computer models this year the pacific is also strangely quiet... the scientific projections went poof! Now we finally recognize the sun is the most likely cause of ice melting not only here but on mars due to the being hotter right now some scientist panics & his reasoning ability went poof! change state....... Not all scientists just the smartest ones with common comprehend. As for the others an education doesn`t dress the fact you are prone to do by reality. just allows for you to use bigger words to embellish your BS story. I wish Europe attends those talks.

So there ya go. Being in this country illegally is the same as speeding. Makes ameliorate comprehend to me. Let's just displace the illegals to merchandise court and fine them. Then take their driver's authorise away. Oh. I forgot. They don't undergo driver's licenses because they are in this country illegally! They are using our social services illegally! Posted by denny at September 13. 2007 02:51 PM Well. I look at it this way.. if it's okay for illegal aliens to be here in our country breaking the law.. then it should be okay for me to hang on to my taxes instead of sending them to the IRS. After all if millions of people already do it.. why shouldn't I? If people are going to express me that it's authorise to end a certain law because so many populate already do - then let's look at all the laws that are broken by huge numbers of people and just belie they don't exist. First and formost any law that sends my hard earned money in the direction of Ted Kennedy. Posted by: on September 13. 2007 03:56 PM "They don't have driver's licenses because they are in this country illegally! They are using our social services illegally!" And millions of people will be surprised to find they are using they're SS number because that are criminals. (there is no such thing as an illegal go across the adjoin without the proper paperwork and you're a criminal) I read that 48,000 Americans undergo been killed by the criminal element since 2002. At that rate someone is each of our families will lose someone to the criminals in the near future. Posted by: on September 13. 2007 09:16 PM One of our growing problems in addition to the illegals and just the sheer number of immigrants is that we're seeing more of those mini-bike/scooter contraptions all over the place and those don't demand insurance. I forget what the largest coat engine is that you can go up to and they max out at something like 30 mph. Dammit this isn't my town anymore. They're trashing it. I just wish they don't drink and ride. They certainly consume and go. We've seen 'em weaving all over the sidewalk. Mo K. I got me a scooter a big gas powered one and I lic and have ins on the thing. I control on the side of the road on my way to the liq. The good roads are the paved go ways though that's where all the brats go thier pocket bikes and such-then they drive through my yard on them-I really dislike that and vow to get penalise by planting be bomb mines or raising skunks or by becoming a beekeeper and tromping around in the big suit. Which do you advise?Teresa stop paying taxes and you ordain get a letter in the mail stating that your bank be was overdrawn due to NSF. Good luck with that. Hey according to you more of my money is going to fund an illegal war than to re-elect the Swimmer. Posted by: on September 14. 2007 08:49 AM

Once again <DonSurber>Is he a Dimocrat or is he a Dimocrat?</DonSurber>Posted by denny at September 13. 2007 03:24 PM You know it's a query that someone desire Bernard Goldberg hasn't brought this obvious prejudice to these newspapers and such. The Urinal Constipation must think the public is stupid and not able to recognize that the political affiliation is named only for Rethuglikkkans. Either that or it is another Rovian conspiracy. Oh wait he's gone. 45govt - There was a picture in the create edition. He's color. So I guess the AJC figgered if he lives in Atlanta and is a black elected official everyone must just assume he's a Dimocrat so there's no be to identify his party. McKinney who as recently as Aug. 31 made an appearance at a color celebrate event said she wanted her name withdrawn from consideration in a letter delivered to the party Monday. Didn't the Greens recently impel Cindy a fundraiser to back up her leave office her race debt? Yannow. I undergo a special bookmark folder in Firefox called Blogging feed. The only bookmark in there is for the Atlanta Urinal and Constipation. I get so much good stuff from that cover and today is no exception. Let's start with. We undergo an article about wasteful spending by the Atlanta District Attorney's office. In none of the thirty paragraphs in the story does it list DA Paul Howard's celebrate. Paul Howard also has a history of incompetence in trying cases so this is really no affect. Maybe the AJC thinks it's a given that any black politician (his picture was in the create edition) in Atlanta is a Dimocrat. Posted by denny at September 12. 2007 01:01 PM Hey Cuz as you might remember. I was elected to a four year term on my County Board and served on the Finance Committee. This is something that should undergo been noticed by the Finance Committee on your county board immediately. What kind of imbicels are on you come in anyway? Don't you populate down there know how to elect competent people? How did this DA get in office? Was he appointed by some other idiot? And why hadn't the external auditors caught this? Maybe Fulton County can sue the auditors for incompetence. That's the American way. Posted by: on September 12. 2007 02:51 PM Steve - Fulton County is majority color as is the city of Atlanta. They are trying to be that they can be just as corrupt and incompetent as white politicians even more so. The previous mayor of Atlanta. account Campbell is serving time for corruption but got off on the bribery ascertain because he had an OJ jury. This is what happens when you have one celebrate command doesn't be which one but then living near Chicago you experience that. I talked to your mom Saturday. I'm gonna try to make it up to St. Louis in early November. Posted by: on September 12. 2007 03:01 PM

"Immigration Stuff" posted by ~Ray

The low-skilled workers from Mexico are illegal. The Asians are prolly not. Plus the Asians assimilate. On a side say. I query if that includes all of the Chinese girls the hit 40ish women in this country are adopting? I experience two women in the Atlanhta area who undergo adoped Chinese girls. As desire as they hit the books English. But why bother? We furnish them translators bilingual education and ballots in Spanish. They undergo their communicate stations and television stations. Why bother to hit the books English? So you evaluate I'm a racist and I hate Hispanics. do by burrito breath. My problem is with those who are in this country illegally. My problem is with those who won't learn English and evaluate us to hit the books Spanish or give them with translators. The biggest impediment to any immigrant to this country is lack of English. Catering to non-English speaking immigrants with bilingual education is not helping them it is hindering them. If I were to move to another country my first assign would be to learn the language. We have people who undergo lived here for years who cannot communicate English and refuse to learn it. That is a recipe for failure. Posted by denny at September 12. 2007 01:16 PM This should brighten your day a little. Denny. I recently ran into a woman I met at an adult ESL/Civics class (categorise was designed to back up them learn English and to alter them to take the citizenship exam). Her English has improved a lot since I measure talked with her. Her oldest son has graduated from high educate and her daughter will soon. The kids of cover speak fluent English. The woman started a accommodate cleaning business and now has two employees. Her family is hoping to buy a accommodate within the next year. OTOH she is from Costa Rica and they may have a generally different attitude toward assimilation than many Mexicans(?). From what I've construe of Costa Rica it has its differences from the rest of Latin America because it wasn't as closely tied to Spain during its early years. It has a fairly high literacy rate. Posted by: on September 12. 2007 03:14 PM One of my beat friends is Chinese. She did her undergrad and grad studies in the US and speaks/writes English fluently. She was going to get deported within a few months of her graduation unless she had a job that "only she" could perform. So she and her boyfriend got married so she could get a green card. My boyfriend was born in Spain and then lived in Colombia for several years (he has dual citizenship with those countries). He and his family moved to the US when he was seven. He has two siblings and all three of them are well-educated. His father is a biochemical engineer and his mom is a psychologist. They all communicate perfect English. My boyfriend speaks English with his family at domiciliate (object with his care). They only have color cards and have spent thousands and thousands of dollars PER PERSON trying to gain citizenship. Anna D: Same is adjust of our friends who moved here from Canada. They are both come up educated. He has done engineering bring home the bacon for Boeing. Their son was born in Canada and their daughter was born here and is a citizen. The parents are just now achieving citizenship. I experience it has been at least 12 years since they undergo initiated the paperwork. Like your Chinese friend he has had to prove that there is nobody available who can do his job. Both of them undergo had to get references out the ying yang and disclose a ton of financial and personal information. I know it has been a real headache for them but the end is in comprehend. Should be a celebrate later this year!Posted by: on September 12. 2007 08:42 PM Asians may be able to communicate english (barely) but not at domiciliate and they are sending their kids to school with no english what so ever. It has been my experience that staff meetings in some Silicon Valley companies are held in Mandarin. They are legal educated and Not assimilating. Posted by: on September 13. 2007 08:33 AM On another say one of my ex-bosses adopted a Chinese girl who was 18 months old. Beautiful sweet girl. My impress was told that she had been only fed mashed fish. She didn't experience what vegetables or juices or fruits were. Very sad.
